Announcing the Classic Lyric Arts 2027 Summer Programs

With passionate artists, a thriving community, and a mission to discover the music of language, Classic Lyric Arts is proud to unveil the 2027 Summer Programs.

CLA France

CLA France is a two-week summer training experience for emerging artists in the Périgord region of southwest France. CLA France is dedicated to exploring French opéra and mélodie with native teachers in all its complexity, nuance, and beauty.

Made up of 17 singers, two pianists, and four teaching artists, CLA Artists and Faculty reside together in the French countryside and are immersed under one roof in the magic of French music, language, and culture.

CLA Mozart

CLA Mozart is a two-week intensive program where participants dive into recitatives, arias, and scenes from Mozart’s Italian operas at the highest musical level. Located in a beautifully restored 13th-century convent nestled in the hills of Todi in the Umbria region of Italy, the artists and faculty live and work together in historic grounds built for creating community.

With 17 singers, two pianists, and four teaching artists, this new immersive program prides itself on giving artists the training and atmosphere to deepen their connection with Mozart, focusing on the musical foundations and traditions that illuminate the masterworks of opera.

CLA Bel Canto

Nestled in the small town of Novafeltria, CLA Bel Canto is a two-week summer training program dedicated to exploring the precision, artistry, and enchantment of bel canto repertoire. Artists immerse themselves in Italian culture, living among the locals in the small town of Novafeltria.

Established in 2009, CLA Bel Canto (previously CLA Italy) is the original CLA summer program. With 20 singers, three pianists, and five teaching artists, the daily schedules and concert programs are packed with detailed work and expansive repertoire. CLA Artists experience the Italian way of life while immersing themselves in Italian opera and song.
