Congratulations to CLA alumna mezzo-soprano Christina Grohowski, who has been selected to join the Metropolitan Opera’s 2026-2027 Lindemann Young Artist Development Program!
Christina first joined Classic Lyric Arts in 2023 as a participant at both CLA Italy and CLA Mozart (formerly CLA Berkshires), where she immersed herself in the music of Italian language with renowned faculty members, developing her unique artistry throughout the summer.
Since her time with CLA, Christina has continued to take important steps forward as a performer and rising professional. Most recently, 2026, she performed in the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition as a semi-finalist. She has also performed with the Lyric Opera of Kansas City and Houston Grand Opera’s Young Artist Vocal Academy. She later joined Santa Fe Opera in 2024 as an Apprentice Singer where she performed in productions of Der Rosenkavalier, L’elisir d’amore, and The Righteous. Additional performance credits include Dorabella in Mozart’s Così fan tutte, Marcellina in Le nozze di Figaro,and Madame de Croissy in Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmélites with Yale Opera.

The Lindemann Young Artist Development Program is one of the opera world’s most respected programs for emerging artists at one of the most significant theatres in the world. Christina will be able to call the Metropolitan Opera her home for the next two years as she grows and hones her artistry on a historic stage.The CLA Artistic Team couldn’t be happier for her continued success.
