Congratulations to CLA Italy alumna, Carolina López Moreno, who was named one of Opera Wire’s Top Ten Rising Stars of 2025!
Carolina has emerged as one of the most captivating soprano voices on today’s international opera scene. Her acclaimed London Symphony Orchestra debut as Magda in La rondine under Sir Antonio Pappano drew widespread praise.
Her performance as Magda initiated a steady stream of unexpected debuts at leading European opera houses, including Semperoper Dresden, Gran Teatre del Liceu, the Royal Opera House, Teatro Carlo Felice, and Teatro San Carlo.
While Carolina sings a variety of repertoire, she is quickly becoming known for Puccini and Verdi roles. Since her 2021 debut as Liù in Turandot, Carolina has brought emotional sensitivity and vocal brilliance to roles such as Cio-Cio-San, Mimì, Leonora, Nedda, Adriana Lecouvreur, and Violetta at major houses.
